2006 Awards

Awards were presented by the Mayor of Poole, Cllr. Judy Butt, during an evening event at Upton House on 2nd October.

A special award went to Poole's own "Mr Green Fingers" John Lockwood in recognition of his 32 years service enhancing the Borough's environment, as well as his annual contribution to Poole in Bloom work.

Twenty prizes were awarded in three Garden of the Year categories, including Front Gardens, Sheltered Housing Frontages and Commercial Frontages.  A further twenty four prizes went to winners of our School Colouring Competition and School Environmental Project.

All gardens, large and small or even frontages of flats are entered into the competition.  Prizes included vouchers generously donated by Golden Acres Garden Centres.

The committee would also welcome entries from unusual and wildlife front gardens and, especially in times of water shortages, gardens which have adapted to a drier climate.
