Established in 1897, Parkstone Gardeners' Society is a friendly
society of like-minded individuals who enjoy sharing an interest in
gardening to the mutual enjoyment and advantage of its members. The
society is open to everyone wherever you may live.
For those who
live in Dorset and have an interest in gardens and garden history
the Trust provides a lively and friendly forum for discussion,
debate, conservation and occasionally campaigning.
The South's finest privately-owned gardens. As
well as the beautiful ten acres of gardens, there are shops,
restaurants, a delicatessen and regular events to enjoy.
Further all-weather facilities planned for the near future.
The wonderful summer bedding display at
the western (Kingland Road) entrance to Poole Park is supported by the Leisure
Services Poole in Bloom budget, and is available to local charities
celebrating a major milestone - an anniversary or centenary for instance.
For 2009 we are growing a colourful
display for Julia's
House, the Dorset Children's Hospice, and in 2010 we help the
Girlguiding
Association celebrate their centenary.
In 2011, at the special request of Councillor Peter
Adams, we will recognise the work of
Help & Care, a Bournemouth
based charity working with older people and carers across Dorset.
The bed will be dedicated in 2012 to the Poole
Olympics Group, and in 2013 to
SSAFA (Dorset
Branch) in recognition of its 125th Anniversary. SSAFA
helps serving and ex-service men, women
and families in need.
