Poole in Bloom enjoys annual financial support from Borough of Poole's Leisure Services unit.  This funding hosts our monthly meetings, the awards evening at Upton House, and pays for this website.  A member of their staff helps with administration, PR and publicity.

The Council also funds Poole's 'strategic' floral displays - for instance the stunning spring & summer bedding plants brightening the Borough, the three-tiered pedestal planters in the Town Centre, Hamworthy & Parkstone, and the four-tiered pedestals in the rail & bus stations.  The many bulbs and wildflowers that are planted annually, in tubs and on the green spaces of Poole's streetscapes, outside our schools, churches and libraries are also paid for out of our budget from the Council.

Among this year's Front Gardens competition prizes are garden tools from the British-made Bulldog Premier and Children's range, and from Tesco.

Other prizes are generously sponsored by Golden Acres Garden Centre, Stewarts Nurseries & Eco Composting.

A School's Garden prize is kindly donated from the Living Willow range by English Willow Baskets of Somerset.

Continental Landscapes provide labour, tools, advice and other support to the committee and community.

During 2008 Hamworthy in Bloom has been supported by Bryant Homes and Lidl stores.

As a group of volunteers, however, we are always looking at ways we can expand our work into new areas and increase our impact across the Borough.  We are grateful to, and can offer the appropriate acknowledgement to any local business, trust or individual prepared to help support us.

Further sponsorship & donations are always required for:

  • Prizes for our hard working & inspirational school project teams and residents

  • Printing of the promotional leaflets and competition entry forms that we distribute to garden centres, schools and libraries

  • Tubs & planters for communal areas (outside libraries, sheltered housing schemes and retail areas for instance) and the planting and maintenance of them

If you would like to help, no matter how small the amount you are able to afford, then please contact Denise Hill.
